The Lord called me another way though, to the Coronado ward/area which is 30 mins south of the El Camino ward/area. My companion served in the Philippines for 17 months, was home for 3 months, and is now here for 4 months to finish his mission off. So we were whitewashed (not exactly sure what this means, but if it means what I think it means then its the correct term to use) into the area and we're honestly excited to get to work. We're working with the members first and then will probably just branch out from there. My companion's name is Elder Johnson and that's my grandma's maiden name and she married a Buckwalter so I've been saying it was meant to be - haha. We found out we're 11th cousins which isn't that close, but still cool. Harrison (Elder) Kinney is in my new zone as well so I'm so excited. I'll see him probably once a week now. He's a friend from Herriman who got reassigned here after a year or so in Brazil. Anyone who knows Harrison knows how hilarious he is! This is a fat paragraph so I'll make a new one.
If you haven't figured this out yet, I am still in the Vegas West mission. However, the word on the street is I will be heading to (my original mission) Hawaii beginning of August or maybe mid August. With my new living situation, companion, etc., I'm honestly not too anxious to go to Hawaii. t\The only people we have met in the ward are our bishop and Elders' quorum president; they are both filthy rich and super nice as well, so if the rest of the ward follows the same pattern, i'll be living large here. We had dinner with our Elders' quorum president and his wife last night actually and they fed us the BEST salmon- wow. The goal is to have a member meal everyday. honestly so we'll be working on that.
Enough of this nonsense. The world is a mess currently, but I'm so grateful for this gospel and all that it blesses us with. I promise you all that there is peace in Christ. Legitimate peace and joy that is provided by our obedience to the commandments, serving others, studying the scriptures and so much more. its been a great couple of days in this new area and I'm so excited and enthusiastic about getting to work here! Love you all, even those random people on here that I stole from other friends email lists! :)
*my new comp Elder Johnson is the taller one in the back in the pic w/ the big dogs just so y'all know! These dogs were behemoths!!
