What's up everybody?! I'm here on the big island now! I'm on the Kona side in a town called Honokaa. It's kinda out in the boonies, but so far I've enjoyed it! My companion is a 113 pound half japanese fellow by the name of Elder Clark. He returns home to Dallas Fort Worth Texas in approximately 4 weeks. In the meantime we will be working together to bring souls unto Christ.
I'm actually here at the Kona stake center right now and earlier I looked over and realized the temple was right next door! My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets and I immediately took some pictures which I will attach. If you're unfamiliar with temples, its where we can be sealed to our families for all time and eternity in comparison to a non-temple marriage which will end at death.
Not much else to report. I've just gotten used to everything we do as missionaries. As "greenies," everything you do is new and exciting so then you have to write about everything in your weekly email haha. I'm always on the look out for cute dogs that I can pet. Luckily our landlord/next door neighbor/2nd counselor in the stake presidency found a stray dog and has adopted it for the time being and its really cute. Then we helped a family move their chicken coop the other day and they had the CUTEST puppy. I will attach a picture.
My brothers and sisters, life isn't meant to be easy. God will always try and test our faith with unfamiliar or uncomfortable circumstances. I stumbled upon these verses in Mosiah 23.
21 "Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith."
22 "Nevertheless—whosoever putteth his trust in him the same shall be lifted up at the last day."
I really really appreciate all the prayers and fasting in my behalf this past week. Ihelped. It really did. Sorry if this email was boring! and also sorry I have like 0 pictures from this new area!
